POPLAR TREE FUNERAL INVITATION

PACKAGING IS CONTENT
From the trunk of a poplar tree, I created a sculpture in the shape of a coffin. For the first time, the packaging is simultaneously the content. The sarcophagus is solid. The coffin is one of two elements of the installation. The second is a gravestone. This can be seen live during the funeral ceremony.
THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD?
The funeral of a tree is an unusual situation. Perhaps this is the first action of its kind in the world.

The slogan of the event was taken from a Dutch plate that was recovered from the Thames in London in recent years. How does this slogan connect with the poplar tree? You will find out during the event.
